The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (often abbreviated to LOLER) place duties on people and companies who own, operate or have control over lifting equipment. What's included in LOLER Inspections
Following the inspection, our assessor will determine…
Whether the equipment is safe to use
The assessor will investigate equipment thoroughly to ensure it is; working as required, the condition of the items is good and if it is safe to use.
Whether it needs remedial attention
If the assessor locates a fault with any equipment, they will inform you of their findings and make recommendations on how to repair these faults if possible or if the items need to be removed from service.
If it needs to be removed from service
In the event that a piece of equipment is irreparably damaged or not fit for purpose, your assessor will recommend that you dispose of it appropriately.
Under the LOLER regulations a thorough inspections should be carried out every 6 months for climbing kit and every 12 months rigging equipment.
NB: Please note, we can only assist with Arboriculture and ecological LOLER inspections, other lifting, such as manufacture or installing of equipment is not supported!
